Sneak peek into Sudan’s Wad Bushara gold mine

Sudan exported $2.2 billion worth of gold last year and hopes to produce around 50 tonnes of gold in 2013, which would potentially make it Africa's third-largest gold miner and push it into the top 15 producers globally. At this juncture, Gulf News takes a glimpse at the work in progress at the Wad Bushara gold mine in Sudan, where about 2000 people are working.

    It's very unfortunate that the private investors take advantage of the poor population and exploit them in these mines for their own benefit. Goverments should not allow this.
