On the front line of tourism
If you live in the UAE or are just visiting you would require the services of a taxi at some point, and would notice that most taxi drivers here are from the Asian countries in addition to some from Arab and African countries. But all of them have a peculiar lifestyle and drive taxis from eight to 14 hours a day. There are also dedicated taxis for families, women and people with special needs. Passengers can hail a taxi on the road, book one over the phone and even on interent. Gulf News photographers Ahmed Kutty, Atiq ur Rehman and Zarina Fernandes went around the UAE photographing taxi drivers during their shifts, while they waited for customers.
