Man’s best friend on show
It was a day of shiny coats, wagging tails and excited barks as dog-lovers on Friday turned up with their well-groomed pets at the Pedigree and Whiskas Dubai Pet Show held at the Rugby Sevens grounds. About 35,000 visitors attended the event, which had special counters for health checks. The dogs also competed with each other in various categories that judged their alertness and discipline. Staff photographer Atiq-Ur-Rehman found that while the large pedigreed canines were up to the challenge, the pups were quite content to be photographed by one and all. The pet show also serves a place to find a home for rescued dogs.
