In pictures: Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines from start to finish
More than 30,000 workers toiled for five years to get the Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines up and running and on track for the September 9 opening. While the 52.1-kilometre Red Line was opened on 9.9.9 the 23-km Green Line was opened yesterday completing the Metro project. Both lines presented an engineering challenge as it passes through Dubai’s bustling commercial and business district, under the buildings, over the roads and under the Dubai creek.
