Whale watching off the coast of Sri Lanka
The deep blue sea off the coast of Mirissa in Sri Lanka, where the waters of the continental shelf is close to the shore, is among the world's top spots for seeing whales, dolphins and other creatures of the deep. Since the end of the civil war, tourists are returning to Sri Lanka to enjoy its natural beauty and catch a rare glimpse of the elusive whales.
