  • After months of hype surrounding the event and protesters barraging almost every stop of the torch relay over China's treatment of Tibet, the 2008 Olympics Games in Beijing finally got underway on August 8. The ceremony at the National Stadium, or Bird's Nest, was undeniably spectacular, featuring awe-inspiring choreography and elaborate fireworks.
