Dubai

I would like would to raise my concerns about the need for a pedestrian footbridge near the Ras Al Khor commercial complex in Dubai. I work for a company located in the Ras Al Khor area, next to a famous driving school.

I travel on a bus operated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) every day from Al Qusais area to the Ras Al Khor commercial complex. My office is located on the other side of the road and there is no facility for me to cross the road. I have to travel a stop ahead, cross the road and then take another bus to reach work, which costs me an extra Dh2 every day and a lot of time is also lost.

I am not the only person who faces this issue, most of the people who work in or around my office face it, too. Students enrolled at the driving school also find it hard to reach their destination.

The riskiest bit is that some people try to cross the road using the flyover in the area, which is made for vehicle traffic, to save time and money. Traffic moves fast here and it’s very dangerous.

I request the authorities to consider this issue and do the needful.
