Dubai: Emirates Post is urging all P.O. box holders to renew their subscriptions for 2017 well before the deadline of January 31, 2017, in order to avoid last-minute rush and fines for late payment.

Emirates Post Group (EPG) said subscribers can complete the renewal through multiple channels. The P.O. boxes can be renewed at all post offices and through the Emirates Post Group’s website (www.epg.gov.ae), and through the mobile app of EPG.

“We are pleased to inform our subscribers that renewing online using our mobile app can save them a lot of time and effort. This is part of our strategy to encourage the use of our apps for most services,” said Abdullah Mohammad Al Ashram, Acting CEO of EPG.

“For those renewing at post offices, we recommend early renewal in order to avoid last-minute rush as well as to enable subscribers to arrange additional documents, if required.”

Subscribers who renew after the due date of January 31, 2017, will have to pay a fine for late renewal. Those renewing the P.O. boxes after February 28, 2017, will be permitted to renew only after paying the fines, provided the mailbox has not been transferred to another subscriber, they said.

Those renewing at the post offices are required to produce their valid national ID card at the time of renewal.
