I am a resident of Dubai Marina and concerned about the unattended mess, dismantled boundary wall and portacabin behind our tower.
For approximately eight months a company contracted by the developer was piling up huge amounts of sand and mud on this plot – it was the height of almost three floors, covering the whole plot – just in front of our building. They worked seven days a week, from 7am till 7pm, with two excavators. After that, they started to load the sand in trucks. It took them a month to load the soil taken out from the sea onto the trucks until they cleared the mountainous piles in the area.
We protested against it, but nothing happened. Now the contractor has left the plot for months and left what you see in the picture, while all the work has been done. It is obstructing and even blocking the pedestrian zone, but nobody cares.
The residents in the Marina are placed in a daily traffic and pedestrian mess over the past few years and if the developers would understand the extra stress this causes they would at least keep the areas for pedestrians and bikers clean and open.
