Have your say: Drive for a cause
Dubai-based professionals Allison Amour and Elise Baverel are planning a peace drive to Paris from Dubai in 12 days. What do you think of their grand adventure for a cause?
Dubai-based professionals Allison Amour and Elise Baverel are driving from Dubai to Paris from Dubai in 12 days.
They say the adventure is a bid to strenghten ties between the Middle East and Europe.
However, while some are eager to support their cause, others remain sceptical.
What do you think of their grand adventure for a cause? Have you ever made or considered undertaking such a long journey?
Enjoyed reading the article and would love to do it on a motorbike. I would like to find out about the papers/visa's required for the journey.

If part of this trip is to encourage others to do it, then I'm encouraged. Now I would like to know more about it as my husband and I would like to do the same trip next year.

Laugh out loud. Just make sure the girls have their visa's. Also extra euros for Gas. It's expensive these days. Also, if you want to REALLY strengthen ties, do what Terry Fox did and run for the cause, sitting in your mini and hitting the cruise control isn't really a challenge.

I am really proud of those two French girls. It is really a good step to tighten the bond between two different countries. Cheers to Allison Amour and Elise Baverel. Have a joyful journey and a safe one, too. I hope you get your goals.

Such a bad step to take. Can anyone tell me how this will strengthen the ties between UAE and Europe?

As someone who has lived in a French province for 8 years in Canada I am really surprised by Drive for a Cause. The French are usually very conscious of culture, history, the environment and politics. But this expedition does not say that about them. It is not clear what the cause is? Driving to raise money? Did anyone consider the environment, how young women from this region will feel about something like this?

I think it is great idea! I would love to do the same in my live time but on Motor Bike. As live in Canada I would start my trip from Canada and end it in India. I will cover Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia and whatever countries that fall in route. GOOD Luck and keep us posted on your adventure!

Wouldn't it have made more sense for a national of the GCC region to take this trip? How exactly do they think that their "road trip" with strengthen ties? Are they raising any money for a good cause along the way, or just the money to pay for their trip? Sorry to say, I'm not convinced.

I think this is a really good initiative from the french girls, I want to go too. It's for a good cause and hopefully it will have some positive impact for the region!

It's an good idea to travel by car from the UAE to Europe. I am also thinking about a trip by car to Europe, to Germany but prefer a different way, passing Saudi-Arabia, Jordan, Syria and Turkey. Good to know, I'm not the only one who thinks about this.
