The mayor of Ankara, Turkey, chewed gum when he saw off France President Nicholas Sarkozy as a form of retaliation to Sarkozy’s similar act when he arrived in Turkey.

Do you find people who chew gum while talking to you rude or annoying?

What do you think is the most disrespectful behaviour a person can do while interacting with others?

    I fully agree wsith Mr. Litty.There was a time when respect to elders,teachers,parents was a normal thing,and if u fail to do so then u r inviting trouble upon urself. But nowadays,all those values are oldfashioned,and if u follow them then u r "out of tune with the times."I have met kids who are totally disrispectful,and not a word of dissent from the parent accompaning them.Sometimes I feel AS PARENTS WE HAVE BECOME MORE SCARED OF THE KIDS THEN THE OTHER WAY ROUND.

    Sarkozy is very rude to Turkey and he is an anti-Turkish always. Chewing gum is least of his disrespect to Turks. Mayor simply made a political stand for reelection. Sarkozy don't care what Turks do or thinks. His target audience is disgruntled and unemployed French right.

    Although it is sometimes satisfying to think of the "good old days" of my youth, a time when chewing gum or whispering in a classroom might get you a visit with the principal and a phone call to your parents Living In Todays Modern world many of us have forgotten what is respectful and what is disrespectful. we forget the basic manners . when you do not have respectful for your self how would you have respect for others. Would you chew a gum and talk to an employer taking your interview? never. if you think its ok then be sure to never get hired. Would you chew gum and talk to your senior manager during a meeting?? I can tolerate all this as long as you dont make a bubble gum out of it. wht i can find totally disrespectful is when people burb after having their heavy supper and they dont even have the courtesy to even say sorry. Another disrespectuful behavior i hate is when people point fingers or like name calling- Terrible for me to digest. and last but not the least Increasing encounters with aggressive drivers and road rage is what we see in our daily lifes on the road. Let us improve and change our selfs. There are a few good people out here who we can learn a lot from .

    I find it disrespectful and annoying at work when someone interferes during your important discussion with the boss even if their concern is not even urgent or important. I find them very rude and unprofessional.
