The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) militants have now led a month-old crisis that has overrun large parts of northern and north-central Iraq and as a result, displacing hundreds of thousands innocent lives.
The focus of this week’s debate is on Isil and whether it is the end of Iraq?
These are the statements to be debated:
• Lack of choices (Al Maliki or Isil) is driving Iraq to disaster.
• Uniting with Kurdistan will stave off threats.
• Due to the political root problems, military intervention will not resolve the issue.
Participants will be required to clearly state whether they are ‘for’ or ‘against’ the statement and provide their supporting arguments for the same.
