There has been a lot of confusion lately over visa renewal rules due to conflicting statements by senior government officials. In a country dominated by foreign workers, rules pertaining to entry, exit, employment, residence and tourist visas should remain transparent all the time. People usually take the comments by senior government officials seriously, and make plans accordingly - be it employment, residence or bringing a relative to visit the UAE.

Rules on short trips to some neighbouring states for visa changes is very important for jobseekers and those planning to change jobs. Many people come to the UAE to seek employment, and possibly fortune, as it remains one of the most attractive countries for opportunity in the region. Therefore, transparency in dissimination of information is of utmost importance. Appointment of public affairs officials or spokespersons always helps to communicate with the public through the media more efficiently.
