Time to steer a new course
Dubai's perceived status as the worst city in the world for drivers is an eye-opener.
Dubai is the worst city in the world for drivers? Give us a brake! But seriously it is true, at least according to a poll conducted by us.
Thirty-two per cent of our readers had Dubai finishing by a nose ahead of Mumbai. And Karachi trailed a distant and very flattering third with 16 per cent, followed by Cairo - yeah, sure - with 11 per cent.
But there can be only one winner and the word on the street is that our dynamic city is a topper yet again. Perhaps Dubai has to thank its expatriate citizens for this unwanted honour. Most people polled proudly blew their horn when it came to criticising the existing driving standards back in their countries and here they are - in Dubai, showcasing the best of their worst driving skills.
Some of them meet up on the roads - but only by accident.
