These roads are not for turning
A coordinated team should be set up to eliminate those dangerous U-turns.
Trees planted in the median of busy roads can contribute to accidents. This is especially so at U-turns and particularly when the turnings are not controlled by traffic signals.
If a motorist is blindsided and cannot see if the road is clear to move because his view is hindered by vegetation, advertising hoardings or other roadside furniture, then the chances of a serious accident occurring increase tremendously.
If trees and shrubs are at fault, then it is obviously the municipality's horticultural department that is to blame; if it is roadside advertising, then it becomes the responsibility of the Roads and Transport Authority.
But if it is the security and safety of the users of the road, then it comes under the police. But, rather than each organisation blame the other for inaction, it is far better a coordinated team was set up to eliminate those dangerous U-turns and junctions.
