Despite her various gaffes, the former Alaskan governor may still run for president
It is very hard to understand why former republican US vice-presidential candidate Sara Palin is still popular at least in the US. For most of her running stint, she was ridiculed and put down. Yet a year later, the Alaskan is back in the spotlight, promoting her new memoir, which she reportedly got paid $5 million for.
This brings up a very pertinent question, did she write the book for the money or in preparation for the 2012 elections? Her whirlwind media tour indicates that she is definitely interested in considering a second shot at the presidency.
Outside the US, Palin is far less understood as a politician (or a failed one), let alone a hockey mum or author. Whether or not she has staying power remains to be seen. She still makes no sense whatsoever talking about why she quit as governor of Alaska. Maybe she is taking it easy for now. Judging from how her book is being received, Palin could still be relevant in 2012.
