With increasing numbers of restaurants and food outlets, the issue of food hygiene becomes an important aspect of how such outlets are licensed and are allowed to operate. The chances of an outbreak of food poisoning increase when standards of keeping and serving food are not strictly applied.

What is important here is not just that food itself should be fresh and well-prepared. It is also critical that staff working in the industry recognise and implement high standards of hygiene when it comes to handling food. This can only be ensured if strict laws and stiff penalties are applied by the concerned authorities against the outlets that violate these rules. To ensure these standards, follow-ups and checks must be frequent and regular.

Food poisoning involves people's health. It is critical that food outlets are required to follow and implement the highest standards of hygiene.
