Learning about good and bad
Distinguishing between real life and fantasy is also fundamental to a child's upbringing

Young people have a moral compass. It is vital that all children be taught the difference between right and wrong, and they have to know that a particular act or feeling is bad or good. This sense will come from their parents, from society and from religious teaching, and is fundamental to any child's upbringing.
But young people will see films which portray people doing wrong, and maybe even making heroes of the villains. Most children are able to distinguish between real life where their deeds matter and affect people, and a film in which they are watching a fictional fantasy.
It is possible that some films offering violence or evil as their subject matter will give children ideas, but not everyone will copy what they see. Hundreds of millions of children have read tales of Robin Hood, but they have not all turned to robbing banks.
