The manner in which Dubai Police handled the Suzan Tamim case should be commended given the factors involved and the intricate details of her pre-planned killing.

Not only have the police dealt with the case diligently, but they have also -and rightly so - made their findings known to the public. Such an approach is of extreme importance because it assures a transparency that would encourage public confidence.

"The murder was premeditated and the planning was cunning and highly professional. We had enough and more important evidence in the apartment that led to the identification of the suspect," said Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Acting Chief of Dubai Police in a press conference.

As this case became a talking point in the local community, the same approach of transparency and openness should continue to be the course followed, as it affects the public at large.
