Dubai Metro on right track
Green Line extension project will make it the most viable form of public transport
By entering the Guinness World Records, the Dubai Metro has notched yet another landmark in its illustrious drive — at most times without even a driver — towards excellence. Its new plans, however, to link the Green Line with the Academic City and a number of other areas, within a span of five years, signals its unbridled ambition to constantly achieve new goals.
Thousands of passengers will benefit from this extension plan in what is Dubai's intention to project the Metro as the first and most convenient choice of public transport. This is also in line with Dubai's Vision 2030. The icing on the cake could perhaps be the connection between Dubai and Abu Dhabi via the Red Line in the near future.
Already most of Dubai's rich and diverse communities are looking at the Metro as the most viable form of transportation; this shows that the initial doubts over its efficacy have been removed. It is definitely on the right track.
