Optimism must be tempered by the harsh economic realities facing the international aviation business, but the 2009 Dubai Air Show will secure the important role of the emirate in the global commercial and military aircraft industry, now and in the future.

The number of companies attending the show is up, despite the international financial crisis and the global economic slowdown which has severely impacted the industry. This is because the UAE and the Gulf region is one of the few places in the world where there is continued investment and growth in the aviation business.

The show is not only an opportunity for the big companies to strike deals, but it also gives leaders in the aviation industry a chance to showcase their products, exchange ideas and lay the basis for the future progress of the business. Aviation is the backbone of the global economy as it facilitates communication between business partners and the quick and efficient transport of goods across the world. This is why, despite the present crises, the industry will inevitably rebound.

And while industry leaders strike deals and plot out the future, the residents of Dubai will be entertained with a spectacular air show.
