Appeals are falling on deaf ears
America attempts its own form of genocide against the Palestinians
The United Nations has launched an urgent appeal for a near doubling of aid to the Occupied Territories. It is a desperate attempt to alleviate the suffering faced by the people there, due to the crippling economic sanctions brought about by US-inspired sanctions against the Hamas-led Palestinian government.
What one has to wonder is by how much the Bush administration is prepared to let the people suffer. Already the very young and elderly are dying through lack of medical facilities and medicines. Combined with this is the starvation brought about through the people's inability to buy what little food is available to them.
Since most Americans only see what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank through Israeli eyes, the biased view distorts the reality. Namely, that in this 21st century, their government is starving another democratically elected government into submission. Americans should hang their heads in shame.
