Al Houthis must keep their word
It's a matter of concern that the rebels have failed to do what is required of them

- Yemen's supreme security committee recently said that Al Houthis have failed to implement all of the six conditions they had agreed to in the peace deal reached with them.
The failure to reach a final settlement to the fighting with Al Houthi rebels would ensure the continuation of instability and uncertainty in the Gulf region. With all the necessary means, this should be avoided as the region is in no need of a prolonged, open war.
Yemen's supreme security committee recently said that Al Houthis have failed to implement all of the six conditions they had agreed to in the peace deal reached with them. "The only thing that Al Houthi rebels have done so far is reopening some roads [and] removing some mines," said a statement issued by the committee. The rebels have refused to hand over heavy weapons, the removed mines, or the military and civil equipment that they had confiscated during the war, according to the committee.
Yet the more dangerous aspect of the current situation is allegations that the rebels are now intensifying their fighting inside the country while at the same time maintaining the peace agreement only with Saudi Arabia. If this is indeed the case, a final end to the fighting has to be enforced, with the assistance of Gulf countries. Otherwise, the conflict will probably erupt again in the future.
