Diabetes is a silent threat. There are no obvious outward signs that it has struck. A sedentary lifestyle, with little or no exercise and an unhealthy diet increase the chances of a person falling victim to it. Obviously medical check-ups are important but so too is following a disciplined lifestyle. In the hectic life of tight schedules and multi-tasking that many people find themselves caught up in, there seems little time to exercise. But even in the workplace there are options that can be taken to keep healthy. Taking the stairs instead of the lift as much as possible, is recommended as is eating less greasy foods.

With deadlines, meetings, traffic delays it is easy to put off or forget simple measures that have long-term health benefits. Even taking a short walk daily after an evening meal can have lasting benefits. The journey to good health always begins with one small step.
