A change seems to be occurring among the voters in India and the trend seems to be pointing to the end of bipolar politics and agendas.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), realising that its ability to lead and form alliances in many states across the country has been dashed, has now decided to do some spring cleaning within its own pecking order.
Honorary retirements are now been chalked out for party president Rajnath Singh and L.K. Advani, the leader of the opposition in parliament and the BJP's own prime ministerial candidate. The latter's fall in particular has been swift.
Coupled with these phase outs is the recent internal revolt that the BJP has faced in Karnataka, their showdowns with veterans like Jaswant Singh, Arun Shourie and the recent standoff over Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's controversial resignation.
Many believe that the cleansing process is being driven by the BJP's ideological ally the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Indian politics may soon see the emergence of BJP stalwarts like Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj.
