YouGov has also carried out a similar survey for Britain's Daily Telegraph. British respondents expressed similar opinions to those expressed by respondents taking part in the survey carried out in the Gulf region.

US policies in the world: A total of 42 per cent of respondents said that US policies had made the world a "somewhat worse place" to live in while 23 per cent said it has become a "much worse place".

In particular, by a majority of 74 per cent, British respondents said American policies in the Middle East have brought about greater instability to the region.

In addition, a majority believed that Bush is not a good leader. A total of 43 per cent of respondents said he is a "terrible leader" while 34 per cent said that he is a "pretty poor" leader.

American culture: Even though 40 per cent of respondents said that American culture has made the world a somewhat "worse place" to live in, a good 33 per cent said that it made it a "better place" to live in.
