Dubai: Beginning next year, Nol card can be used to not only pay for your bus and metro trips, but park entrance fees too.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently signed an agreement with Dubai Municipality allowing for operating and collecting fees of public facilities run by the municipality via Nol card.

The agreement, which will be in effect early next year, will allow the public to use RTA’s Nol card to pay entry fees for Al Mamzar Park, Zabeel Park, Mushrif Park, and Creek Park.

The agreement is in line with Dubai Government’s efforts to boost cooperation between public entities in the interest of the local community, and in support of the Smart City initiative.

Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, and Mohammad Abdul Kareem Julfar, Assistant Director General for Corporate Support Sector of Dubai Municipality, signed the agreement.

The agreement also details that the RTA has to install electronic systems for selling and recharging Nol cards according to places, quantities and specifications defined by both parties, while the municipality undertakes to provide the RTA with rules and legislation of relevance.

Julfar said, “Public parks in Dubai are iconic entertainment avenues and attract more (and more) number of visitors each year.” This new service makes parks accessible via smart gates in line with the government’s transition to smart services.
