Woman killed in Chicago shooting may be linked to gunman
Officials suspect one of murdered woman may have be linked to the gunman
Chicago: One of the five women shot dead in a suburban Chicago woman's clothing store may have known the killer, Illinois officials suggested on Sunday.
"Investigators are looking into the lives of those killed for possible relationships they may have had with the killer," said Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch. "They're following relationships."
Cops continued a massive manhunt for the fugitive, who herded a manager and four customers to a back room in a Lane Bryant store. Reports said that a sixth woman may have escaped being murdered.
"We did receive one female victim from the Tinley Park shooting," a local hospital spokeswoman said. Police refused to confirm whether there was a survivor or if the sixth woman was a witness to the shooting.
The store's parent company has offered a $50,000 reward for information that could lead police to the gunman.
