Pope Benedict lands in US
Pope Benedict is due to meet US President Bush with Middle East peace, human rights and hunger in Africa on the agenda.

Maryland: Pope Benedict arrived on Tuesday on his first papal visit to the US.
He was greeted at the airport by President George Bush, first lady Laura Bush and their daughter, Jenna.
He waved as he came off the plane as students from a Catholic school cheered.
On the flight to the United States from Rome, Benedict addressed the painful issue of sex abuse among the clergy.
He said he was ''deeply ashamed'' of the problem and vowed to keep paedophiles out of priesthood.
