Two seriously hurt in shooting near Bravo murder site

London: Two people were seriously injured in a shooting about a mile from the scene of the murder of Ryan Bravo, the teenager shot dead in a grocery store in south London, police said on Thursday.
A 39-year-old passer-by was shot in both wrists when he was caught up in gunfire in broad daylight in Camberwell on Thursday.
Police said shots were fired during an argument between two groups of men. An 18-year-old in one of the groups was shot in the buttocks and collapsed nearby.
Both men were taken to south London hospitals where their condition was said to be serious but not life-threatening.
Crackdown
A spate of shootings and stabbings in London in recent months has prompted a police crackdown on young people carrying weapons. Metropolitan Police chief Ian Blair last month said the violence was "unacceptable".
Detective Constable Lucy Goodale, investigating the latest shooting, said three men have been arrested and bailed.
"This incident could have had far more serious consequences," she said. "But it has still resulted in two men needing hospital treatment for serious injuries.
"The incident took place in broad daylight in a busy area and I am sure there will be a number of people who witnessed the incident and events that led up to it."
Innocent bystander
The shooting followed the death of Bravo, 18, in Camberwell on August 6. He was killed when gunmen on mopeds fired at two men standing next to him. Police said he was an innocent bystander and not the intended target.
Scotland Yard said officers found the murder weapon during searches on a housing estate in Brixton at the weekend.
Three men, aged 17, 18 and 19, have been held on suspicion of murder. The 19-year-old was remanded in custody to November 17 when he appeared in court on Monday. Eight others - seven teenage men and a 48-year-old woman - have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and ammunition after the gun was found.
