British court sentences serial rapist to life in prison
A British man who may be behind dozens of sex attacks has been jailed for life.
London: A British man who may be behind dozens of sex attacks has been jailed for life.
Kirk Reid, 44, must serve a minimum of 7-and-a-half years for more than two dozen attacks on women.
However, London police are investigating whether he is responsible for a further 71 attacks.
Judge Shani Barnes on Thursday called the attacks "utterly terrifying and humiliating" for the victims.
The Metropolitan Police apologised for errors in the case that meant Reid was not arrested until four years after he was brought to their attention as a possible suspect.
An independent commission is reviewing the police's investigation.
