A coconut vendor, who tried to pin the blame for his own wrong-doing on another person, was detained by the police for giving a false testimony to authorities.
Manila: A coconut vendor, who tried to pin the blame for his own wrong-doing on another person, was detained by the police for giving a false testimony to authorities.
Police in suburban Marikina City detained Ryan Dischoso after they found out that he lied about an incident.
Dischocoso had tried to pin the blame for his own misdeed on his neighbour.
According to a report by radio station dzBB, Dischocoso was cleaning his home-made shotgun on Monday when it suddenly went off with the shots grazing him in the eyebrow and in the hand.
Dischocoso later told police that his injury was caused by a wayward bullet fired from the gun owned by his neighbour Bernardo Almazan.
But Almazan, when questioned by police, said he was not the one who shot Dischocoso.
Police said they are preparing charges of alarm and scandal and illegal discharge of firearm against Dischocoso as a result of the incident which took place on the eve of April Fool's Day.
