Manila: A suspected bomber has escaped from a jail in Kidapawan City in the Philippines, police said on Sunday.
Jail official Buenaventura Pedrita says Musali Cado and another inmate destroyed the iron bars in their cell with a saw and escaped on Sunday.
Pedrita says a police manhunt is under way to recapture the two, especially Cado, who has been charged with multiple murder for his alleged role in deadly bomb attacks in Kidapawan and elsewhere in North Cotabato province.
Provincial prosecutor Al Calica says officials have also sought criminal charges against jail guards for Cado's escape.
