Steamy billboards causing congestion

Manila: The proliferation of suggestive billboards in the city has resulted in a heavy flow of traffic, especially along major routes, a local newspaper said.
"If there is heavy traffic but no vehicular accident along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), chances are, there might be a huge sexy billboard [being ogled at by motorists there]," said Hermogenes Ebdane Jr, Public Works secretary. Ebdane confessed that he had also been distracted by the racy billboards while driving along the route.
He said billboard operators should stop promoting vulgar and suggestive advertisements to help ease congestion.
"You can't help but look at them in the thick of traffic. A split second distraction for motorists can mean slowdown in traffic if not accident," said Melvin Navarro, Public Works director of planning.
