Philippine audio CD sings paean to police
The Philippine National Police (PNP) have released an audio compact disk with 10 tracks that seek to project the harried policeman in better light.
Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) have released an audio compact disk with 10 tracks that seek to project the harried policeman in better light, a local paper reported.
"It's to tell people about the good things policemen do for the community," said PNP spokesperson Nicanor Bartolome.
Speaking to the Inquirer, Bartolome said the compilation went by the name Mamang Police (Mr Policeman) and featured 10 songs, including one titled Mr policeman, thanks a lot.
The lyrics try to picture policemen as affable and helpful individuals rather than those deserving of the scorn society heaps on them.
Copies for the public
The CDs are to be distributed to all police stations nationwide and will be played during special events at the stations, Bartolome said.
The public also would be able to get copies depending on the demand, he said.
The album cover features a photo of PNP Director General Avelino Razon. The Police Community Relations Group has a copyright of the production.
