Manila: The palace on Saturday brushed aside fresh plans by anti-Arroyo groups to lodge a new impeachment complaint against the President as officials expressed confidence that the case will not prosper before Congress.
"We are very sure it will not prosper once it reaches Congress," Anthony Golez, deputy presidential spokesman said.
Three impeachment complaints are being prepared against President Gloria Arroyo and will be filed in the coming days by members of the so-called "civil society."
The three filing of the cases will be the fourth attempt to constitutionally oust the President in as many number of years.
