Miners rescued in Philippines after a week in mineshaft
Two miners were rescued on Monday after being trapped for seven days inside a flooded mineshaft in the northern Philippines.
Manila: Two miners were rescued on Monday after being trapped for seven days inside a flooded mineshaft in the northern Philippines.
A total of 16 miners were trapped in the shaft in Itogon town in Benguet province since last week following a strong typhoon in the country.
Rescuers were still searching for 11 other miners who remained trapped inside the shaft. Three dead bodies were recovered on Friday.
