Manila: Francisco Salazar, 24, jobless, was arrested for stealing 76 pieces of branded brassieres at Manila’s major mall, a local paper said.
He stayed at the ladies section of SM Mall on Manila’s F. Huertas Street, where he kept his loot into his backpack on Tuesday. A sensor rang out when he left the boutique where he stole his loot, the Inquirer said.
“I did not know that the stores had sensors,” he told the Inquirer while detained at Manila’s police station..
“My friends and I were drinking when they asked me, ‘Do you want to earn lots of money?’ When I told them, ‘yes,’ they told me to steal some items from that (SM) store,” he recalled.
It is easy to resell the stolen bras at P 100 each, he added.
He lost his job earlier as a housekeeper, he said.
