Arroyo's daughter denies wedding plans
The Presidential palace has denied alleged marriage plans by President Gloria Arroyo's only daughter, Evangeline "Luli" Arroyo contrary to reports that came out on Friday.
Manila: The Presidential palace has denied alleged marriage plans by President Gloria Arroyo's only daughter, Evangeline "Luli" Arroyo contrary to reports that came out on Friday.
Reli Fajardo, presidential deputy spokesperson, said there is no truth to reports that the 37-year-old presidential daughter is slated to get married on February 9, 2009.
"It's not true," Fajardo said when asked to confirm reports on the supposed wedding.
Earlier, Luli had denied reports that a date had been set for her marriage to investment banker J.A. Luigi Bernas who is older to her by 10 years.
The low-profile daughter of the president said her life remains a private matter and that she has no idea how the rumour came about.
Reports had came out on Friday that Luli had been set to wed Bernas at a ceremony in Bohol, Central Philippines.
Luli remains the only unmarried child among President Arroyo and lawyer Miguel Arroyo's brood of three. Luli's other siblings are both members of the House of Representatives.
Luli had graduated with a masters' degree in Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington.
Reports had come out Friday that [Arroyo's daughter] Luli had been set to wed Bernas at a ceremony in Bohol, Central Philippines.
