Islamabad: A US missile strike in Pakistan's North Waziristan region on Saturday has killed British-Pakistani militant and terrorist mastermind Rashid Rauf, officials said.
Geo News and AryOneWorld channels also reported that Rauf was among five victims of an attack launched by a suspected US pilotless drone aircraft.
Rauf had escaped Pakistani police custody in 2007. He was seen as the mastermind of a 2006 airplane bombing.
Another Al Qaida operative, Egyptian Abu Zubair Al Masri, was also killed in Saturday's missile strike, intelligence officials said.
