Karachi: Pakistani security agencies yesterday arrested a top Baloch separatist commander along with his five colleagues after a brief shootout near the Iranian border in Balochistan, officials said.
The paramilitary Frontier Corps arrested Wahid Bakhsh Qambar, a leader of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), from Tump town, 640km southwest of provincial capital Quetta.
"We raided a house in Tump on information that Qambar and his men were hiding there," said a paramilitary officer.
However, there were no reports of casualties.
