Islamabad: An anti-terrorism court yesterday remanded in police custody for seven days three suspects arrested in connection with the recent suicide truck bombing that destroyed the Marriott Hotel in the Pakistani capital.
The accused, identified as Usman, Raja Elyas and Hamix Afzal, were produced in the court amid tight security.
The police sought a 10-day remand for investigation that it said would help round up others involved in the September 18 Marriott attack that left around 60 people dead and hundreds injured.
The court, however, agreed to remand the accused for a week and asked the police to produce them before it again on October 23.
