Suicide attack in northwest Pakistan
A suspected suicide bomber blew himself up on Tuesday near a security post in the northwestern Pakistani town of Doaba causing some casualties, police said.
Islamabad: A suspected suicide bomber blew himself up on Tuesday near a security post in the northwestern Pakistani town of Doaba killing one persona and injuring nine others, police said.
"The bomber came in a white car and detonated explosives near the check-post. We are making checks. So far, we have confirmation of four people wounded," said Sher Wali, a senior police officer in the town.
The attack on a paramilitary post in was the latest in an intensifying campaign by Islamist militants that has raised fears for Pakistan.
Doaba police official Omar Faraz Khattack said soldier died on the way to hospital and one is seriously wounded.
Television channels reported seven people were killed.
