Islamabad: Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf will attend the forthcoming 19th Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia as a special guest, a foreign ministry statement said.
Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah has invited the president to the summit to be held on March 28-29 in Riyadh. During his stay in Riyadh, Musharraf will also hold bilateral talks with other participating leaders.
"Pakistan hopes that the deliberations at the Arab League summit would help de-escalate tensions in the region and pave the way for early resolution of conflicts and disputes in the region, specifically the Palestinian dispute," the statement said.
