Lashkar-e-Taiba leader placed under house arrest

Pakistan has placed the leader of a group linked to the Mumbai attacks under house arrest, according to reports.

  • India has claimed the Lashkar-e-Taiba group was behind the Mumbai attacks which claimed the lives of 172 people.

Islamabad: Pakistan has placed the leader of a group linked to the Mumbai attacks under house arrest, according to reports.

Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, who is thought to be the leader of the militant Lashkar-e-Taiba group was arrested on Thursday according to the BBC.

India has claimed that the group was behind the Mumbai attacks which claimed the lives of 172 people.

Two other men linked to the group, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and Zarrar Shah, were taken in for questioning on Wednesday.
