Gunmen have killed a Pakistani working as the director of public relations at the Iranian Consulate in Peshawar
Peshawar: A police official says gunmen have killed a Pakistani working as the director of public relations at the Iranian Consulate in the northwest city of Peshawar.
Mohammad Kamal says gunmen attacked Abul Hasan Jaffri on Thursday near his home in Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province.
The city near the Afghan border has seen a spate of attacks in recent days by militants in apparent retaliation for a major army offensive in the northwest.
Kamal says Jaffri was critically wounded in the attack and later died from his injuries at a military hospital in Peshawar. The gunmen escaped after the shooting.
