Pakistan investigating deadly Pakistan mosque blast

Jamrud: Pakistani security officials on Saturday were investigating a suicide bomb attack on a packed mosque that left at least 50 people dead.

Security officials said they suspected Friday's bombing was to avenge operations against Taliban fighters and other militants aimed at securing Nato supplies into Afghanistan.

The attack came as US President Barack Obama vowed to wipe out terrorists from Pakistani safe havens, warning that Al Qaida was plotting catastrophic new attacks.

The suicide bomber attacked the packed mosque in Jamrud in northwest Pakistan at prayer time on Friday, killing at least 50 people and wounding dozens of others.
