WHO chief's death not to alter strategy
The death of Dr Lee Jong-wook, the World Health Organisation chief who died yesterday, will not alter either the tactics or strategy to fight bird flu, the WHO's Maria Cheng told Gulf News last night.
Dubai: The death of Dr Lee Jong-wook, the World Health Organisation chief who died yesterday, will not alter either the tactics or strategy to fight bird flu, the WHO's Maria Cheng told Gulf News last night.
"We will continue to give it the highest priority and we are well prepared to respond" during the transition to a new chief, Cheng said from Geneva.
Lee died in the intensive care unit of Geneva's University Hospital.
