Tamil Tigers storage base destroyed in Sri Lanka air raid
The Sri Lankan airforce destroyed a Tamil Tigers base used for housing explosives and killed a bomb-expert, the military said on Tuesday.
Colombo: The Sri Lankan airforce destroyed a Tamil Tigers storage base used for housing explosives and killed a bomb-expert, the military said on Tuesday.
The base, which was located in the chaotic north, was targeted on Monday.
A bomb expert known as Dora was also killed in the attack, the military said.
In separate clashes, 20 rebels were killed along the northern frontlines.
The official also said separate ground clashes killed 20 rebels Monday on the northern front lines in the Mannar, Vavuniya and Welioya areas.
The rebels did not immediately comment on the event.
