Bagnkok: Thailand's Public Health Ministry has reported the country's seventh swine flu death and 134 new cases, bringing the country's total to 1,845.
The ministry's permanent secretary, Prat Boonyavongvirot, announced the new tally on Saturday.
Most of the new cases were students, the Nation newspaper reported on its website.
Prat said the flu's latest fatality was a woman in her 30s from Ratchaburi province, 80 kilometers (50 miles) west of the capital.
He did not immediately have additional details.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said health authorities hoped that a five-day public holiday this week during which schools and many offices will be shut will help contain the spread of the virus.
